3G4G Trip

Last Tuesday year 7 and 8 went to the 3G4G Guang Shan Buddhist Temple in Riccarton.
Half of us went at 9:00 and got back at 12:00. Half went  at 12:30 and got back at 2:45. We were the
first group. When we got into two groups. Group one and group two. I was in group one.

When we got there we talked about the 3 Goods and 4 Givings. Next was the art gallery.
There were heaps of pictures of greyhounds and horses. After that we went to car park and got
water tattoos if you wanted to, I didn’t.  

Next we went into a hall and did some origami art. Next we watched a short film of a buddha.
After that we went to have a drink of water and two biscuits. Then we went and did a prear thing called
bathing the buddha. You had to say the 3Gs and he 4Gs then bathe the buddha. You had to put water on
a small buddha. After that we got little bells and we left the temple.  

The temple was really good and one day you should go there.

Term 1 Reflection

Because today is the last day of term 1 we have to write a reflection of the term.

My favourite activity for the term would have to be surfing. I liked surfing because it was the first time I went and it was a good experience. My favourite thing to do in school is being an ambassador. Only 2 people got  chosen and I was one of them. I like being an ambassador because I get to go around to different places and talk about things. last Wednesday me and five other people got to go to mitre 10 and ask for some supplies. The most challenging thing would be writing speeches for ambassadors.

Yurtle the turtle

Yurtle the turtle is our new class turtle.
She is a female red eared slider.
She is about 15 years old.
The actual owner works at St Bernadette's, so she has lived at St Bernadette's while Mr Mitchell's wife has worked there.
The way we got them is we had to write a persuasive letter, and swap them for the frogs Yoda and Belle.

Here is my persuasive letter:

Dear Mrs Mitchell

Our class would like to have the turtles and in return you can have the frogs. There names are Yoda
(Boy) and Belle (Girl) and they are golden bell frogs. Here are some good things about the frogs.
If the class is quiet Yoda will croak, You can learn about their life cycle, they also come with a feeder.
The frogs are easy to look after. They are out when it is hot. So those are the reasons why you should
have the frogs

Can I please have a velociraptor for a pet?

A raptor is a good pet because it can take me to schoolz, it just needs a small bed like a dog bed and we can teach it to follow commands.

I can take care of it and it easy to feed its easy to. It’s also easy to transport.

Surviving a natural disaster.

I was in panic. Those were the tsunami sirens. You have 24 hours before the
tsunami hits. Get to high ground or be an idiot and lock yourself in a basement.
Can you guess what option I chose. Obviously I chose to be an idiot and lock
myself in a basement. But I wasn’t that stupid I had a plan. My plan was to go
in my basement (that was 300 meters deep). it had weapons, canned food,
Frozen food, 500L of water and heaps of other things i needed to survive.
There is a ladder, a elevator and a car elevator. I could survive for a whole
year under there, It was the dream bunker it could survive anything. Especially
tsunamis. I zoomed down there. And locked the 3 big metal doors. (23 hours
later). tsunami incoming. The lights flickered on. I could hear splashing the
lights starting flickering. I turned on the generator and sat down. The tsunami
was getting worse the splashing was getting louder. I flicked on the tv and
watched it. (3 hours later). the tsunami was real intense. BANG! The first door
broke. BANG! The second door broke. I was doomed I only had one door left.
Then I remembered the big emergency door. I put in code and the door
dropped. I went and had some steak and collapsed (48 hours later). I woke
up to... The tsunami is over you can come back to town now. I opened the
doors and climbed up the ladder. Most of the city was washed away. Some
of my house was ok. By some I mean none. It was all gone there was nothing
but the elevator ladder and car elevator hatch. Well I had money so I could
just get my house rebuilt. After all I did have a car so I didn't need that.

Ice Cream Writing

Vanilla

I was about to have some vanilla ice cream. I slowly opened the tin foil top I slowly approached and scooped some. It tapped my tongue then my brain froze. It was creamy and half melted. It's like it was made for me. I can't really describe the flavor but it was still really yum.

Goody Goody Gum Drop

It was time to have ice cream AGAIN. This time it was goody goody gum drops (and it was creamy again) My table was up first. I was the first to have the ice cream. The ice cream was mint green and the it had lollies I got Three. When we finished we had to write about it (OBVIOUSLY) The ice cream has its own flavor (if you didn’t know) Now you should try goody goody gumdrop ice cream.

Life in the 1850’s  transport.

Many things in the 1850’s were not like now for example,In the 1850’s they only had one mode of transport. The transport was… horses.

Life in the 1850’s school

In the 1850’s the schools where really really strict. For heat the teachers would have to get up early and light the fire.  In the schools if you were naughty you would get smacked with a strap(It would be really painful). In the schools the seats where wood and you dip your pen into ink.  They did not have playgrounds.

Life in 1850’s food.

It was really hard to make food. The food was really rare. The cops wives had to cook for hours so when their husbands were  et home they could eat. The mori use to grow food and sell it.

Life in 2017 transport

Now we have heaps of modes of transport such as cars,planes,boats, motorbikes, bikes,hover boards (they don’t actually hover),scooters, buggies and heaps more.

Now schools have heaters instead of fires. Now if you be naughty the punishment is not as sever. Now lots of schools in christchurch have chromebooks.

Now you can just go to the  supermarket and buy food. people still make stuff but mostly machines do. Some countries are running out of food.

The plane is hanging on vines of a tree they were both knocked unconscious. 5 hours later.  Where are we. said Jon. I don’t know I'll go check. Said Jack. JUMP! Why? Said Jon. A missile was coming at them. Just do it. Said Jack. ok on my count 3 2 1 JUMP yelled Jon. BOOM Chapter Two. Ghost Town. They were falling. Try and land on that weird squishy thing. scaredly said Jon. Ok Ill try. And if I miss leave me to die if I survive. scaredly said jack  O- Splat! They landed in the weird squishy thing. What is this because it feels kind of like jelly. any way let's get off thing and go explore and find some food. Said Jack. c’mon. 2 hours later. Jack I think I just found some sort of ghost town. Why pollution in the air is deadly.

Pollution has lots   of effects on humans like lung diseases, heart diseases, asthma and more deadly effects. A type of pollution can cause acid rain and it can harm trees, animals, fish, and other wildlife. This is gas from factories.

Who and what is affected by air pollution?

Lots of animals, humans ,plants  and soil, seas and air are affected by air pollution.. Pollution can kill.

Which countries are affected most by air pollution?

Have you wondered which countries have been affected most by air pollution.

Saudi Arabia has been affected the most. Qatar is second. Egypt is third. Bangladesh is forth. Finally Kuwait is fifth.  In these counties there is lots of rubbish and smog.

Conclusion - How we could help stop pollution                                   

From these disturbing facts about pollution we can see that millions of wild animals are dying every year.

If people  want to reduce air pollution they should try some of these methods.   Avoid smoking, drive less, buy a bike, scooter or skateboard,  Supermarkets should buy and give out cloth bags instead of plastic.  If everyone does this maybe we can save the animals.

Imaginary Danger

Timmy is 6 years old and likes exploring. He has blue eyes and has black hair.

It was nice sunny Saturday morning Timmy was looking through the basement for fun, when he found a helium compressor and a parachute. Timmy ran so fast up the like he was he running away from a erupting volcano, up the ramp with mini air compressor and parachute, to his bedroom. Timmy excitedly grabbed 4 jumbo sized balloons ran outside  and blew them up with the helium pump.

He instantly floated away. He was going so fast. There were heaps of things in the air. There were jets, planes, birds and clouds he could also see Mars, Jupiter, rockets and more. three hours later he was out of Earth’s atmosphere. He saw a light coming at him like a rocket.

It was getting closer and closer. He seemed so loud people on  the Earth could hear him. POP! He got hit by a U.F.O. As the U.F.O entered Earth’s atmosphere the space suits parachute plopped out. PLOP! One hour later he landed in his backyard. Timmy ran so fast and grabbed a apple pie because  he was starving and ate it tidily. He walked normally into the lounge and flicked on the TV to watch the 9:00PM news. “a U.F.O has crashed in”. he switched off the tv  before the news person could say, and He ran to his bed went to bed.

My Holiday

On saturday the 15th at 9 o'clock me Devan and Mum drove to the Horncastle arena LEGO Brick Show.   Devan is my 7 year old little brother. There were tons of lego structures. Mum kindly bought 2 classic lego sets for Me and Devan.

I felt a little pleased when Mum bought it for me.

Then we drove causally away When we got there we check ed into the Motel. An hour later we slowly walked to the thermal pool. The pools  we swam in were lazy river, 40 degree pool and the big pool. The lazy river moved quickly like a rabbit.Not long after the pools we walked to a place to have tea. The next day we walked to the lolly pot. After one day we drove away.
