Diffusion Experiment

This week we have been learning about diffusion. Diffusion is where particles go from a high concentration to low concentration.

Aim: Investigate if particles diffuse faster in hot or cold water.

Hypothesise: I think it will diffuse faster in hotter water because it is hotter.

Equipment: We used hot water, cold water, potassium manganate, A beaker, and a petri dish.

Method: Fill one petri dish with hot water and one with cold. Next put a tiny bit of potassium mangante in both dishes preferably at the same time. Then you wait.

Results: They were at the same pase as they were spreading and I think it doesn't matter what type of water it is in it will spread at the same pase. But someone came along and shook our experiment and it ruined it. But by looking at the other experiments I think they spread at the same time. As you can see the dark spot is at the same pace as the non shooken one. Here are some images:

100 Word Challenge

Today we did the 100 word challenge on a zebra on a tight rope. Here is my 100 word story.

There was a zebra that climbed up the stair of a thirty story building. Then it came across a tight lead to its neighbouring building. Which is also thirty stories high. Then the zebra jumped on the tightrope and it just about fell off the rope. The zebra got halfway and it got scared and could not move. Some people saw the zebra and called animal control. After twenty minutes there where so many people on the roofs of the buildings and people were trying to get the zebra down but they could not. The line broke. Then it fell.

ID Tag #2 - Engineering

This week in engineering we had to make a ID tag using the design process on tinkercad. I started off by thinking about who it was for and I decided it was for my dad. Next was the the idea I decided it was going to be a car with his name on it. Then I decided that it would be red. But I decided to change it to black and make the writing red. Then I started designing it and I am happy with the finished product. Here it is:

DTE Blog

For the past two terms I have been doing digital tech. We have learned quite a bit like how to make a game or an app. We also learned the design process. But recently we made an app In groups. My group made a quiz game about COVID-19 because it was relevant. We started by searching up our questions and getting the answers. We also has to come up with a theme a layout and a log book. Do in our case. A took us hours but we got it done. Here is the app. Overall I had a great time in digital tech and can't wait to do this next semester.

The Biggest Recorded Earthquake

Today I have been working on a some facts about the worlds biggest earthquake. Here is the work:

This happened in Chile, Valdivia May the 22nd 1960

How much damage was caused by this horrifying event that happened in Chile where a ginormous  25 metre (80 foot) tsunami and the combined effects of the earthquake disaster let two million people go homeless.Though the deaths toll in Chile was never fully really resolved early estimates of death worldwide, ranging into the thousands were scaled back to 1,655 were injured about 3,000 people were injured to this horrifying event. The tsunami travelled across the Pacific ocean in the hours after the earthquake the waves killed 61 people in Hawaii nearly 140 in japan, and 32 in the Philippines.

How big was the earthquake? It was 9.5 magnitude the biggest earthquake in the world.

How many lives were taken in this horrifying event?Around 1,000 people died from this earthquake and 3,000 people got injured.

How much did the damage cost?where a ginormous  25 metre (80 foot) tsunami and the combined effects of the earthquake disaster let two million people go homeless.

What caused this-by the Nazca plate releasing tension and descending 15 meters underneath the South American Plate. It happened 30.5 km off the Chile coast.
