AIM: DESIGN AN EXPERIMENT THAT TESTS THE AMOUNT OF SALT THAT MUST BE IN WATER BEFORE IT WILL NOT FREEZE WHEN LEFT OVERNIGHT IN THE FREEZER.

When we design an experiment there are some important questions that we must answer first. This is part of the planning stage and will help to give us some ideas.

The Plan.

Task 1; Read the question carefully and write the answer to these questions.

how much salt to add to water without it freezing

The Procedure

Task 2: What are the steps that you will take to make the experiment? 

List them in 6 steps.

Step 1; put salt in a glass
Step 2: measure salt
Step 3: fill glass with water
Step 4: put it in the freezer for 12 hours
Step 5: pull out of freezer
Step 6: done

The Process

Task 3: Draw on a piece of A4 paper the 6 steps that you will use to test the amount of salt in water before freezing. When we are making drawings in science  it needs to be labelled clearly, kept tidy and named. Once you have completed the drawing it must be photographed and uploaded to your blog.

In your drawing you will use:

1. Beakers
2. Water
3. Measuring spoons or cups
4. Salt

Today we did Freeze Frames. The way we do a freeze frame is we pretend to do something then we counted to three then froze. We were pretending we were at the beach and we were digging, and it was about our physical well being.

Passion Project

For the rest of the term on Mondays and Thursdays we are doing our passion projects. I chose a project AR (Augmented Reality). The way were doing it, is  we are setting up a sand box with a projector, a computer and a sensor. What we do is we can move around the sand (kind of like land) and when it go's below sea level it turns into water (virtual water). You can make it rain. We made a big sandbox, we got and cleaned beach sand, we  even installed linux .It has been tough to make but there has been some problems. The computer could have been better. We could have made it better if we had more time. But it was just about finished just the computer wouldn't project the image. I hope it is ready soon. 

Attitude Talk

Attitude Talk.
Today Emma and Rory from Attitude came in to talk about being safe with technology. It was really funny. We talked about technology and how to use and not use it. Stuff like appropriate use being safe and being mindful. They also talked about catfishing. Catfishing is when you pretend to be someone else. Remember be safe online
