You will each have a role for the first scone, then rotate roles for the next two.

1. Collector - Collects ingredients then writes label
2. Mixer - Mixes ingredients
3. Baker - Rolls mixture into scone shape

When one person in the group is doing their role the others will be writing their blog.

Your group will:
  • Make 3 types of scone.
  • Normal plus 2 others.
  • You will make the scone, shape it on your plate, bring it up and place it on the oven tray with a clearly written label. The label must have Group Name and Scone Type.
Scone types:
  1. No butter
  2. No Baking Powder
  3. No milk
  4. With Lemonade
  5. With Baking Soda
  • Draw up a chart to record your findings

Skittles

Aim: To separate colours by using the process of chromatography.

Materials;

1. Circle Container.
2. 5 different coloured skittles.
3. water.

Process:

Step 1: Spread skittles evenly.
Step 2: Fill circle container with water.
Step 3: watch the colours spread.
Step 4: take pictures.
Step 5: eat skittles.

Findings: I found that the colours drain from the skittles and into the water.

Extension:

What is another experiment you could do using chromatography and how would you do it.

Title; traffic light experiment

Aim: to have the three colours separate

Materials: Water, green, yellow, red food colouring, cup and vegetable oil.

Process: Put some water in a cup then add a drop of red food colouring. After add some oil. Put some water in the cup then add a drop of yellow food colouring. After add some oil.Put some water in the cup then add a drop of gr food colouring. Now you should have a traffic light.

Rainbow paper

Materials;

1. chromatography paper.
2. pencil.
3. water base coloured pens.
4. ruler.
5. water.
6. cup.

Process:

Step 1: Get a piece of chromatography paper.
Step 2: rule 1 mm at the bottom and 2 mm at the top.
Step 3: put small dots on the 1 mm line.
Step 4: fold at 2 mm line.
Step 5: put water in cup.
Step 6: put the folded piece of paper in the cup, make sure the dots are in but just a little bit.
Step 7: watch the colours change and rise.

Findings: I found that the colour rises and changes colours into the colours it was formed with

When we have a reliever.

Today with our reviler I worked on my three comments. Also I worked on one of my reading bingo tasks.

When we guest in our class we should always follow the rules. We should listen to the teacher and what ever they say.

Next time we should work harder. We should get work done faster.

Water Filtration Plant

What is filtration?

Filtration is separating solids from liquids by adding a medium through which only the liquid can pass.

Examples are:

  1.  Kidneys
  2. tea bag
  3.  pool
  4. coffee plunger

Materials

1.bottle split

Step 2

Put the top half upside down and into the bottom

STEP 3

Add layers of pebbles sand and filter paper

STEP 4

Get 1 cup of dirty water
